Golden Acres requires Bordetella, Rabies, Distemper and a negative and current fecal within six months of the boarding date. I also highly recommend the Canine Influenza vaccination, but again, I only highly recommend I do not require.

We start our mornings at 6:00 AM with walk sessions, feeding, watering and medicating, as needed. We clean the facility, do any needed baths, grooms, or toenail trims. We finish the morning session with any needed re walks. All the while, new guests arrive or current ones depart. Sometimes our mornings go till after 11:00AM with lots of activity. We start our afternoon sessions at 3:00 and start the entire process all over again. The dogs are usually ready for a break when the lights turn off for the evening near 6 or 7:00 PM.

Yes, we can do exit baths on your companion prior to their departure. This would be something prearranged at the time of their arrival at the facility. Some of the larger or giant breeds, and those with heavy hair coats will not be able to be performed by our facility. That we would leave to our local grooming salons.

Yes we have both heating and air conditioning. In the winter, the facility is kept at a comfortable 68°. In the summer the air conditioning is set at 72°.

Yes. We have many” free choice” eaters that visit Golden Acres. Food will remain with them all day and we will replenish as needed

Golden Acres will board cats. They are housed in an individual unit equipped with a litter box and their regular diet and water bowls. I usually provide a towel for bedding and comfort. We clean the litter daily. We do require a Rabies vaccination and a current stool sample for boarding.

Yes. I highly recommend providing your dog or cats regular diet as it helps to prevent intestinal upset that a food change could create. Your companion has enough changes while being away from you and if we could keep the diet regular it helps keep one thing constant for your fur friend. I also recommend that if you have a special feeding bowl, example a SLOWDOWN FEEDER, that you bring that as well. I do have food and water bowls so you do not need to bring them unless if your dog does have a specific bowl.

No! We DO accept unaltered pets. They may be handled differently but we happily accept them.

We love to keep our families connected and in the loop upon request. We can send an update of your pet including photos/ videos or updates during their stay with us here at Golden Acres. I am always very happy to share my personal cell phone number which allows parents open opportunity to contact me.

Yes! I highly recommend “Meet and Greets”! Upon your request, we would set a date and time that would work for you and  I. I love to meet the dogs and owners and have them feel comfortable with ME and the facility prior to the actual needed stay. At the time of the visit, questions can be answered and I can also slowly introduce myself to your dog. When you leave we are all comfortable and the dog will be more at ease when it visits the next time for its stay.

Please understand we are small, family owned  facility; therefore, we typically only have two people (Anne and Paul) ,that return responses through TEXT, Email, IM, Facebook and Business phone. We do our best to respond within 24hrs and if we don’t, please reach back out . Our Guests, your companion, is our number 1 priority so once we have them set, we take the time to catch up with your inquiries

We ask owners to provide Regular diet/any comforts from home such as toys, treats, blankets or small beds, and if your dog uses a puzzle maize or slow down feeder-please provide. If vaccine records are not uploaded online, texted to me or emailed prior, please bring a physical copy of your pets health records from your Veterinarian. Also, bring any MEDICATIONS and/or supplements that your pet takes both regularly or on a schedule.

The dogs get out 2-4x/day, depending on need or requests from the owner. Puppies and Geriatrics need more outs/day to help with bladder control and relief. The additional outs are charged at +5.00 each beyond the regular 2 outs/day.
